Rhodiola is a perennial herb with a height of 10-20 cm. The roots are strong, conical, fleshy, brownish yellow, with many fibrous roots on the neck. The rhizome is short, thick, cylindrical, and is covered with many scale-like leaves arranged in tile-like shapes. Several flower stems are drawn from the leaf axils at the top of the stem.
